The Borescope in Medicine
September 4th, 2009 . by adminA borescope, which is either a rigid or a flexible tube that allows the operator to inspect and sight items that would otherwise need to be completely disassembled for inspection, is a valuable tool in the medical field. Known as an endoscope to doctors and radiologists, the technology has multiple applications, particularly where invasive surgical procedures need to be avoided. Simple endoscopy, in which the technology is used to explore the injured or diseased area of the body, can be done on an outpatient basis. Endoscopic surgery has become the norm, particularly for joints. Previously invasive and painful surgical procedures are now relatively quick and easy thanks to the endoscope.
