Finding Medical Insurance
December 2nd, 2011 . by adminAll health insurance companies have different underwriting policies so it is important to choose the right one. Most insurers will not cover pre-existing conditions but the keyword is most. Not every pre-existing codition is a big problem. Some are not problems at all. Many insurers both large and small will insurre those with conditions or illnesses such as high-blood pressure or asthma for example. Some health insurance companies will even insure those that have recently had cancer.
Other conditions may be uninsurable from the standpoint of a new applicant. However, even policyholders who have active cancer, AIDS, HIV or recent heart attacks cannot be denied coverage if the policy was underwritten when they were healthy and their health changed for the worst after the policy’s effective date.
Although we are speaking about individual healthcare there are great companies that offer group care for employers that also offer individual insurance with the same efficiency. One of the companies in Connecticut that stands out among the others for their great service and efficiency is Anthem Blue Cross. It is ranked number one for group health insurance but a lot of insurance brokers will also offer them to individuals and families. They have many different ranges of deductibles that suit almost everyone’s needs regardless of whether they have or do not have certain pre-existing illnesses and not only are their deductibles reasonable but their rates are affordable as well.
It is advantageous to go for a plan like Anthem Blue Cross than it is to just take the temporary medical coverage your company may offer you if you find yourself out of a job. This is because you can go on an affordable long term plan and get coverage regardless of whether or not you find a new job.
