The amount and variety of flooring can create quite an experience for someone looking for the perfect material to compliment their decor. One thing that we were sure of was that we wanted hardwood flooring in our formal living room. With this in mind, we began sorting through the brands, types and colors. With the assistance of our contractor the brand and type was easy, however, the color left us baffled. The range begins with the lightest wood, which gives an informal feel to a room, up to the darkest wood that lends a very formal feeling to the same room. We opted for a darker wood because we wanted a feeling of formality to our home.
