Paralegal Studies and Responsibilites
March 29th, 2009 . by adminWhat is a paralegal? A paralegal is an individual who has completed the required coursework at one of many paralegal schools and is educated and trained to perform various legal tasks usually under the supervision of an attorney or authorized entity. Paralegals can find work with attorneys, government agencies, or corporations. The paralegal is responsible for whatever legal task is assigned to them to complete. It can range from preparing pleadings to attending and participating in court or administrative hearings or trials. They interview clients to get the information needed by the lawyer to handle a case. In larger law firms you will see the paralegal before you speak with the lawyer. This gives the paralegal and lawyer an opportunity to research and provide the best service for a client.
