While the car industry continues to produce worse and worse sales figures due to the economic situation, sales of personalised number plates are not being hit in the same way.  It would be logical for sales to be decreased in line with the reduction in car sales, however this does not seem to be happening. True there has been a decrease but not as huge as the car sales figures. Surprising as to many the car is a neccessity whereas a personalised registration number is frivolous and could easily be done without. Image remains important to people even in times of difficulty.
