Whether you are taking online or campus based Interior Design courses you will still need to apply for internships before you get your degree.  Why is that so important?  An Interior Design Internship provides you with on-the-job training that taking classes just cannot provide.  You will work with clients and get your hands-on experience in an internship.  Since you will be face-to-face as well as contacting clients on the phone, you will gain the experience you need to handle various requests and situations.  This opens up a world of opportunities for you in the Interior Design field.  Good customer relationships help to build your client base and can help lead you into your own business or at very least better job offers.
